A Little Encouragement Can Mean So Much
Sometimes someone comes to mind while we’re going about our day. A friend we haven’t spoken to in a while. Someone preparing for exams, going through a beautiful season or a loved one carrying a worry we cannot fix.
We might think, “I must check in on them,” and then the day gets busy. I admit, I've had many of those, ashamedly.
I’ve been thinking about those little opportunities to reach out and how much it can mean when we actually do follow through.
We don’t always need the perfect words
You don’t have to know exactly what to say to encourage someone. Sometimes it’s enough to send a message that says, “You were on my heart today.”
A phone call, a WhatsApp, a handwritten note or a prayer shared with someone can remind them that they don’t have to face everything alone.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
I love that this verse is so practical. Encouragement is something we can offer in our everyday lives, through simple acts of care.
The heart behind Glow in Grace
This is the heart I want to keep at the centre of Glow in Grace.
When I create a gift, I think about the person who might receive it. Perhaps they’re stepping into something unfamiliar and need courage. Perhaps they’ve had a difficult season. Or perhaps someone simply wants to thank them for the difference they make.
My hope is that the words on a mug, a notebook or a small keepsake will continue to encourage them, even long after the gift has been opened.
A familiar scripture beside their morning coffee. A reminder of God’s faithfulness when they open their notebook. Something small that helps them pause, take heart and reflect.
There doesn’t have to be an occasion
Birthdays and celebrations give us lovely reasons to give. But we can also reach out on an ordinary Tuesday.
“I appreciate you.”
“I’m praying for you.”
“I noticed how much you’ve been doing.”
Sometimes those words mean more because they are unexpected.
And encouragement doesn’t have to involve buying anything. If someone has come to mind as you’ve been reading this, perhaps today is the day to send that message or make that call.
A personal thank you from me to all of you!
It’s been a little while since I last shared a longer note, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to reconnect.
To everyone who has ordered from Glow in Grace, shared a post, recommended my business or offered a kind word: thank you! Each of those acts matters to me.
I hope this little corner of your day has encouraged you, too. May you find moments to receive kindness as well as give it, and may you be reminded of God’s love in the ordinary moments of your week.
With love and gratitude,
Allison
